Last week’s University Fair Event, themed Explore, Connect, Succeed, was a great success. Over a hundred universities and numerous workshops attracted a large number of families eager to navigate the complex landscape of university applications and chart their children’s paths towards higher education!

Complete Guidance: Everything you need to know

Students and parents embraced the opportunity to gain first-hand information about different universities, explore a diverse range of academic disciplines and fully engage in interacting with university representatives from all over the world. The event featured many of the prestigious universities that are traditionally top choices among YCIS Beijing students, such as members of The Russel Group, University of Durham and The University of Warwick (UK), ESSEC Business School and IE University (France and Spain), The University of British Columbia (UBC) and University of Toronto in Canada and The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), to only mention a few. Both students and their parents were thrilled to have the opportunity to delve into a wide variety of disciplines – from Architecture, Biological Sciences, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Fine Arts to Law and countless more that were being offered by different types of universities, such as liberal arts colleges, research universities, public and private universities and smaller community colleges. 

Informative Presentations, Tailored Workshops

Additionally, the event offered valuable workshops where all participants could customise their experience. These included but were not limited to gathering knowledge about “Studying in the EU”, learning about “Preparing your US Application”, “The Allure of Community Colleges”, or obtaining guidance and support to target one of the most crucial questions each student faces when it comes to University Applications “How to Find the Right Fit University”. Our attendees were also excited about exploring the opportunities available in non-English speaking countries, where universities in France, Spain and Switzerland provide English-taught programmes to students from all over the world. To further enhance the educational experience, a few universities offer career services for post-graduate students due to their partnerships with large corporations. 

Building Connections: Future Networks

The YCIS Beijing University Fair provided an excellent opportunity to connect with university representatives and other students and families who share similar academic interests and personal experiences. The festive atmosphere, along with performances by our Performing Arts Department, made the event a great way to socialise and build a network with fellow students and their families.

Collective Efforts Result in Comprehensive Success

We trust that the event provided all attendees, regardless of their stage in the university application process, with the inspiration to shape their future, access to the tools and resources necessary to pursue their career aspirations, and the confidence to navigate the complexities of the university application process. The success of this event is the result of the collective effort of numerous individuals. We want to express our gratitude to our CUGO (Career and University Guidance Officer), Mr Abdul Oladipo, who worked tirelessly to put together this event fueled by his vision and commitment. We also want to thank all the university representatives and admissions officers who joined us from a diverse range of universities from across the world. Their presence and willingness to share their expert knowledge, interact with students and give personalised advice made a significant impact on their educational journeys and future decisions. 

This event has inspired and empowered all participants with the knowledge and confidence they need for a successful and fulfilling university education, enabling them to unlock their full potential. We look forward to continuing to offer such vibrant, collaborative community events, with the aim of providing our students with the best education - now and in the future.
