At Yew Chung International School of Beijing, we offer a range of services intended to make life simpler, safer and healthier for our students and parents. We take care of site safety and security, medical provision, meals, transportation and uniforms so that students can focus on school life and parents can rest assured that their children are in good hands during the day.
On-site healthcare is provided by two certified full-time nurses to conduct first aid and handle minor injuries and illnesses. In case of emergency, parents are contacted immediately.
Our school is fitted with PM 2.5 filtration so that students and staff can enjoy safe levels of AQI. We have AQI monitors installed across the campus that parents can view remotely in real time. To read more about our AQI policy, click here.
We also provide 24-hour on-site security guards, and all school visitors must register at the gate. Parents can rest assured that their children are well cared for every day.
We have a wide-ranging and daily-changing menu of healthy, balanced food from leading specialist caterer EAT(under Sodexo).
Sodexo has been operating in China since 1995. In the Education segment, Sodexo’s clients include local and international schools and universities in China’s key cities. Leveraging global best practices in food services at Sodexo, EAT is the brand of choice for international and premium bi-lingual schools in China, and it maintains strong credibility for quality, consistency and the highest standards in safety and operational excellence. A nutritionist reviews our weekly menu to ensure that meals are well-balanced and include the necessary carbohydrates, proteins, fibres and vitamins. The company has a rigorous commitment to food health and hygiene. You can view one of EAT’s sample menus here.
Students are also welcomed to bring their lunch and heat it in the cafeteria if they wish.
Parents are welcomed to drop children off by car in the mornings. We also provide an extensive bus service throughout Beijing for children aged three years and above. We have nannies on board the buses to assist the younger children and ensure all our students feel comfortable and happy on their way to school.
Our new fleet of buses arrived in June 2018. Every bus is fitted with PM 2.5 air filters and other safety features. To read more about the school buses, click here.
Our school uniform is a distinguishing feature of YCIS Beijing. We believe that wearing a school uniform helps unite children, develop their self-confidence, and build a sense of school pride. The School Dress Code also requires black leather shoes or black leather-type trainers with no logos or colour for footwear. All students are required to wear the approved school uniform every day. The school uniforms and additional items can be ordered via our online uniform platform here. Our online uniform platform is live throughout the year and enables families to order remotely and have uniform delivered to their home or school. . Our School Uniform Guide can be found here.
