Last weekend we held our annual Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) Charity Gala, celebrating the close to another spectacular school year and sharing our good fortunes through charity fundraising. This year’s theme was "One Night in Beijing" and what a beautiful night it was! The evening was filled with fantastic food, entertainment and good company as we forged new memories to last a lifetime with our parents, partners and the wider YCIS Beijing community.
Hope and love abounded throughout the night as YCIS Beijing staff and students treated guests to heart-warming performances. The magical affair began with the event’s theme song "One Night in Beijing", performed by Jonathan Mellen and Year 3 student Amber Li. They were followed by the YCIS Beijing Primary Student Choir and an array of captivating song and dance performances from students. Vice-Principal and Head of Primary, Mr James Sweeney accompanied by Ms Zhou Ying Feng, helmed the evening’s auction and the night was drawn to a close with the melodic vocals of Year 1 Teacher, Mr Chambers.
We thank everyone who attended this year’s charity gala for their support, and we are pleased to announce that RMB 187,000 yuan was raised for New Day Foster Home! Again, thank you for sharing in the glamour and ambience of our beautiful Beijing with us and supporting yet another worthy cause. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
