On, January 17, Yew Chung International School of BeijingPrimary students took part in this season’s third and final ISAC Handball Tournament. Made up of 20 schools, the International Schools Association of China (ISAC) is a Beijing and Tianjin based association that promotes friendly interschool athletics competitions.
During the day-long event, ten participating schools were divided into two groups of five teams each. After playing a round-robin tournament within their group, the winning teams from each group then faced-off in an epic match to crown the overall champion.
Although the recent match brought the Scorpions’ handball season to a close, it wasn’t without accomplishment – the Under 9 Girls team scored the bronze trophy, while the Under 9 Boys team won the entire competition!
Handball is a game that requires tremendous physical skills, yet most of all, the outcome of a match rests on how effectively a team is able to work together. Though coordinated effort and effective communication, the YCIS Beijing boys and girls teams showed off their impressive teamwork in coming away with their trophies.
Up next for our Primary students are ISAC competitions in gymnastics and badminton. Stay tuned for more news of Scorpion victories in the coming weeks!
