    • We are delighted to announce the outstanding results that YCIS Beijing students have achieved in the examinations of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for the 18th consecutive year. With a 100 percent pass rate, the Class of 2024 delivered exemplary results, continuing the YCIS tradition of consistently performing above the world average. In particular, one graduate, Helena K, achieved the remarkable score of 44 out of a maximum of 45. In addition, 33 percent of the students in the IB Programme received an excellent score of 40 or higher, and 88 percent surpassed the average world score of 30. We are particularly proud that 75 percent of our students received the prestigious Bilingual Diploma, compared to the global average of only 32 percent of the candidates. This achievement is a testament to our school’s emphasis on Chinese language and bilingual education. Overall, our remarkable students received an average score of 35.5. Because of their unwavering commitment and dedication, our students distinguished themselves by excelling in these exams.

Our students’ success would not have been possible without the expert guidance, support, and dedication of our talented teachers, staff, and YCIS teams. We celebrate these shared accomplishments, and value our school’s supportive environment that enables our students to flourish. With the support of these inspiring teachers, parents, and the entire YCIS Beijing community, our students have been able to reach their full potential. We would like to express special thanks to Mr Daniel Abitbol, our International Diploma Programme Coordinator, who guided each of our IB students with compassion, respect, and perseverance. We also extend our gratitude to each of our IBDP teachers for their countless days and evenings of unwavering support, and their confidence in the ability of our students.

“I worked extremely hard in the IB programme, and seeing my results makes it all worth it. It showed me that nothing is impossible—if I work hard enough. I am grateful to all my teachers because they provided support to their fullest extent and did not hesitate to give extra assistance outside of class. I feel confident that my scores will allow me to get into the university I want to study to become a doctor, which is what I have always dreamed of.” -Helena K, Student, Class of 2024

Her confidence was justified—Helena will enter Seoul National University this autumn to study medicine.

“We are incredibly proud of our students’ exceptional performance on the International Baccalaureate examinations this year. Their hard work, dedication, and intellectual curiosity have paid off with outstanding results that reflect the high caliber of our IB programme. These impressive achievements underscore our school’s commitment to providing a world-class education that prepares our students for success in university and beyond.” -Ms Shelley Swift, Western Co-Principal

The International Baccalaureate Programme at YCIS Beijing is a student-centred programme fostering creativity, self-discipline, reflection, and teamwork in our students. The emphasis is on critical thinking skills, especially evaluation, analysis, application, and integration. We also take pride in our nurturance of bilingual education, which is reflected in our scores, with 75 percent obtaining the prestigious bilingual diploma.” -Mr Daniel Abitbol, IB Coordinator
