    • At the beginning of the academic year, YCIS held two events to provide valuable support to new student parents. These events were thoughtfully designed to facilitate a smooth and comfortable transition for both parents and students alike.

      Hot Coffee and Warm Smiles:

      Welcome from Our PO

Our Parent Organisation (PO) extended a warm invitation to new parents to gather in a relaxed setting on campus. During the event, new parents had the chance to meet with experienced YCIS parents, gain valuable insights, and receive helpful tips on navigating different aspects of school life. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while listening to first-hand experiences, asking queries and building new connections. We are already looking forward to the next PO event!

      Small Children and Big Changes:

      ECE Separation Anxiety Workshop

Starting kindergarten is a significant milestone in a child's life and can cause a range of emotions and uncertainties for both children and parents alike. To alleviate this period of transition, our Head of Student Support, Adina Ondere, and Student Support Teacher, Alma Wu, hosted a bilingual transition workshop for ECE (Early Childhood Education) parents in collaboration with our Head of ECE, Margaret Zhang and Western team leader Tammy Adeniyi.

During this workshop, parents received practical tips, guidance, and resources to help them ease the transition process. They could share their questions and experiences and explore the best ways to support their children. We trust that together, we can create a positive and enriching transition experience for our children, fostering their independence and self-confidence as they progress during their educational journey.
