YCIS Beijing proudly presents its 2024 graduating class. On June 27th, they ceremonially marched to the drum through the auditorium in caps and gowns, embodying pride, joy, and anticipation. Graduation day had arrived—a remarkable day to be etched into history through years of dedication and perseverance. Diligence, frugality, humility, and faithfulness define YCIS students, and this graduating class exemplifies those traits.
Our audience, filled with proud parents, witnessed this significant milestone. They appreciated the gravity of the moment and felt gratitude for all the students’ accomplishments, both in and out of the classroom. Attendees cherished this pivotal moment alongside teachers, peers, friends, and alumni who gathered for this momentous occasion.
We were honoured to have Emma Z and Aicheng X as our Masters of Ceremony. Our audience enjoyed impactful words from our Co-Principals, Ms Swift and Ms Sun. Their words invoked inspiration and motivation, as they celebrated this outstanding class.

During our graduation ceremony, attendees were captivated by an inspiring speech delivered by Dr Betty Chan Po-King, our highly esteemed School Supervisor of YCYW Education Network. Dr Chan eloquently delivered her remarks to our graduates, encouraging them to continue to pursue their dreams with passion, inspire others with their actions, and never lose sight of the enormous potential that lies within each and every graduate.
Our YCIS Valedictorian, Helena K, spoke with heartfelt pride and joy while extending congratulations to her fellow classmates. We were also graced with thoughtful words from our IB Coordinator, Mr Abitbol, and distinguished YCIS alumna, Ms Lin, as well as our Careers and University Guidance Counselor, Mr Oladipo, all of whom offered sincere congratulations and imparted wisdom that resonated deeply with our graduates and attendees.
"As you move forward into the next stage of your life, it’s important to keep hold of the memories and inspiration you gained in your time at YCIS. You are wished only the best in your future journey, and it has been a true pleasure working with all of you," Mr Abitbol said, IB Coordinator of YCIS Beijing.
The ceremony was filled with stellar musical performances that showcased our students’ talents: The Primary Choir’s harmonious voices filled the air with jubilation, our School band captivated us with lively tunes, Tiger Y, Emma Z and Raymond M’s performances mesmerised the audience, and Sofia D and Charlie L’s duet added a touch of elegance to the festive atmosphere surrounding this momentous occasion.
A pivotal moment came when our Year 13 students ascended the stage to receive their IB diplomas, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Each graduate had a unique moment of recognition. We are immensely proud to announce that our graduates have secured offers from some of the world’s prestigious universities. These include but are not limited to: University of Edinburgh, Durham University; University of California Berkeley, Syracuse University, Rhode Island School of Design; University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Waseda University; Seoul National University; University of Toronto, University of British Columbia; and Universities of Sydney and Melbourne. The Class of 2024 is poised for success in competitive fields of their choice at these esteemed institutions. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported these students on their remarkable educational journey.

To complete this joyous occasion, the graduating class honoured a cherished YCIS tradition with a procession through the school, culminating in a vibrant celebration following the ceremony. We extend our best wishes to our graduates and confidently anticipate their bright futures. As they commence new chapters in life, they depart as ambassadors of change, catalysts for progress, and beacons of hope. YCIS has equipped these graduates with essential skills for the future and we know they will forge ahead with bravery, resilience, and integrity.
