This past month has been an exciting one for sports fans, from basketball to swimming competitions and football it’s all happening here at YCIS Beijing!
At the beginning of the month we congratulated our Girls Under 14 basketball team for their winning streak during their inter-school tournaments, and their hot streak continues, becoming still unbeaten during their games in Tianjin last weekend. Through their demonstratively high level of play and ability to adapt to other teams offensive defensive play styles, the U14 team walked away with convincing winning scores of 30 – 11 and 33 – 4. With one month left in the season, we are cheering for them and look forward to seeing them compete to take home the coveted ISAC trophy!
In Swimming news, on March 18 competed with others schools during the ACAMIS swim meet in Suzhou. With over 500 hundred students competing from across china (including our friend at YCIS Chongqing), our swimmers competed across a wide variety events and despite not walking away with any 1st place medals, were smashing their personal best records. Special mention goes to Paris for knocking an amazing 4 seconds off her personal best time.
In the world of football, as mentioned in a previous article, China ClubFootball have almost finished their month long intensive training sessions with our Year 9 teams and are offering after school activates on Thursdays, starting on April 14 for Primary students years 1 – 6.
