This past weekend, our students competed in the 2016 Beijing City International School Winter Swimming Invitational hosted by the L J Swimming Club. Five of our most dedicated student athletes competed against the field, with three of them seizing medals in numerous competitive events!
After a full semester of dedicated training and hard work, athletes from over half a dozen schools around Beijing came together at the Winter Swimming Invitational to go head-to-head in a variety of competitions, but only a handful were able to walk away with medals. Races were held over a series of heats, with the fastest times awarded bronze, silver, or gold medals. Year 4 student Owen Yeow took gold in two events, the 50 meter freestyle and 25 meter backstroke, and his brother Alfie Yeow from Year 5 won gold in the 50 meter freestyle. Congratulations to our winners!
YCIS Beijing’s next competitive swim meet will be the Beijing All-Stars vs. Asia meet, which will take place in February at the International School of Beijing. We hope to see our YCIS Beijing Scorpions fans at the event to cheer on our student athletes as they look to win even more medals!
