Music is a powerful and expressive language we value and cultivate with passion at Yew Chung and Yew Wah. We connect, communicate, learn and grow with music. Over the years, our talented and musical young people have presented numerous impressive and theatrical performances and concerts to our community.

This year, following the successful 2020 YCYW Young Musicians Competition for Performance, we continue to embrace music and foster creativity. Our inaugural joint school competition inspires students to compose their own music. We welcome all students from Yew Chung and Yew Wah schools to join and support “A Celebration of Music 2020/21” competition with original composition submitted by 12 March 2021.

A range of open categories, levels and genres is available to optimise room for creativity, collaboration and diversity. From simple melodies to complex compositions, vocal to instrumental expressions, electronic to non-musical idioms, solo to ensemble arrangements, there is an opportunity for everyone to showcase music potential and personal style.

This is not only a unique platform to challenge yourself, but also to demonstrate how our community can create, innovate and develop in unison through music.
