2019 ECE Christmas Concert Photos
Last week Friday, the Yew Chung International School of Beijing’s youngest learners stunned teachers and parents through song and dance at their annual Christmas Concert. Just like last year, students in our Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programme were clad in Christmas colours and performed traditional Christmas carols and other festive songs to an eager audience of family members awaiting in our school’s Auditorium.
Celebrating our Chinese Language Learners
In recent weeks, Chinese as an Additional Language (CAL) students at Yew Chung International School of Beijing have been taking part in Celebrations of Learning to showcase what they have learned this semester. Celebrations of Learning are interactive presentations students make in front of their teachers, classmates, parents and staff members to show what they’ve learned by the end of each learning unit.

Raising globally competent and compassionate leaders with a servant’s heart is reflected in our daily activities at Yew Chung International School of Beijing, however, around this time of the year – Christmas, this value is embraced even more through Character Formation activities such as the Christmas Wish Tree Project, which is organised by the school’s Parent Organisation (PO).
Improve Your English Skills During Xmas
With one week to go before the winter recess, the mood at Yew Chung International School of Beijing is one of joy, leading up to Christmas. Whilst everyone is eager for the upcoming holiday, we are also of the belief that learning does not have to come to an end with school breaks, but the holiday can be an opportunity to catch and keep up with what we have learned, especially when it cames to languages. This is why we have enlisted the expertise of EAL Teacher and Head of English, Rebecca Flavin, to share fun ways students can continue to improve their English language skills during the holidays.
JISAC U11 Volleyball Champions!
Yesterday, the Yew Chung International School of Beijing’s Under 11 Girls and Boys Volleyball Teams took part in the final round of JISAC (Junior International Schools Athletic Conference) Mini Volleyball Games of the Season. During the Under 11 games, both YCIS Beijing’s Teams gave brilliant performances against their counterparts from other renowned international schools in Beijing.
An Outstanding Performance of Elf Jr.
After four months of preparation, from audition stage to the curtain rise, the Yew Chung International School of Beijing’s cast of Elf Jr. finally performed the much anticipated Christmas play they had worked so hard on to showcase to their enthusiastic audience of family members, teachers, schoolmates and members of the public..
Staying Close to Prevent Bullying
During the week of 25th - 29th of November, the Yew Chung International School of Beijing held Anti-Bullying Week, an initiative whose critical goal is to raise awareness on bullying, especially in schools. During this week, our school community focused on educating students about bullying, as part of character formation, a crucial part of our driving principles.
Children's Rights and Beyond
For the past month, Lower Secondary School students at Yew Chung International School of Beijing went the extra mile working on their Public Service Announcement (PSA) projects for the Going Blue campaign initiated by UNICEF, which seeks to raise awareness for Children's Rights. Now that their projects have been completed, it's time for these projects to be presented to our Upper Primary School students to further stress the importance of Children's Rights.
Meet our Secondary School Orchestra
With the holiday season approaching, the Yew Chung International Schoool of Beijing Performing Arts Department is hard at work rehearsing for the numerous productios our community will have the honour of watching just before the Christmas break. From Elf Jr. to the annual Primary Christmas Concerts. Our Secondary School orchestra which is made up of students from Year 7 – Year 11, has recently resumed with their weekly rehearsals as part of the school’s Co-Curricular Activities.
